FurEver Fun Day on June 10

Pet Crossing Animal Hospital is holding a FurEver Fun Day on June 10th, an annual event that benefits their Pet Protection Program which provides pets with safety, medical care and love while their families are in transition gaining freedom from domestic abuse.

There will also be a microchip clinic at the FurEver Fun Day providing microchips for pets for $25 which includes registration with the national registry. The microchip clinic will support learning activities for UMN veterinary students.

Teaching Clinic Provides Lessons and Spays

On April 1st and April 22, the veterinarians and staff of Pet Crossing Animal Hospital hosted teaching clinics with University of Minnesota Veterinary students and spayed or neutered 41 cats. Pet Crossing Animal Hospital and U of MN veterinary students donated their time and facility to provide these services for Minnesota Spay/Neuter Project clients.

U of MN Vetrinary Students

Minnesota Spay/Neuter Project also provided rabies and distemper vaccines and microchips for each of the cats. We are very grateful to Pet Crossing Animal Hospital and University of Minnesota Veterinary students for providing this opportunity to reduce pet overpopulation.

Based on the reproductive rate, each one of these 41 cats and their offspring could have produced over 66,000 cats in just 6 years!

Petition to Keep Humane Undercover Investigations Legal

Two weeks ago, Minnesota Voters for Animal Protection reported on two bills introduced in the Minnesota Legislature that would ban undercover humane investigations.

The bills would make it a crime to take video without an owner’s consent in factory farms and puppy mills in Minnesota, as well as to possess or distribute the images.

You can help by signing this petition from the Minnesota Voters for Animal Protection to help keep undercover humane investigations legal in the state of Minnesota.

Minnesota Spay/Neuter Project

The Minnesota Spay/Neuter Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization organized exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes. More specifically, we educate the general public about the benefits of spaying and neutering companion animals and in an effort to end pet overpopulation and suffering, we provide to qualifying households free sterilization, microchip, and vaccinations against distemper and rabies.

We want to continue to help people with their pets.  Here are some ways you can help us:
